X-Country Season 2012

 

STARTS 12th May, 2012

Hi everyone, cross country fun running is drawing near and is a good way to maintain fitness.

Cross Country dates and venues have been determined; the first event (U6) starts at 9:00am, Saturday mornings, on the dates listed below. Parents are more than welcome to particpate!

12th May, 2012 - Australian Light Horse Memorial park, Seymour.

26th May, 2012 - Kings Park, Seymour.

9th June, 2012 - Mitchelton Winery. (Queens Birthday Public Holiday is on Monday the 11th) - Subject to change, as families may be going away for the long weekend. Watch this space for confirmation.

23rd June, 2012 - Australian Light Horse Memorial park, Seymour.

7th July, 2012 - Kings Park, Seymour.

21st July, 2012 - Mitchelton Winery.

 

Depending upon demand, the 28th July, 2012 may also be added. (Kings Park, Seymour)

Note : the x-country state championship is held on August 5th, 2012.

Seymour Little Athletics AGM

Wednesday 18th April, 2012

Seymour Little Athletics centre will hold its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday the
18th of April, 2012 at the Exhibition Hall, Kings park, Seymour.

The meeting will open at 7.30pm.
All positions will be declared vacant and new comers to the committee are more than
welcome.
This club currently providing sporting activities for 200+ children from this district and
needs the support of its parents to continue to operate in its current form. So if you are
interested in becoming part of this great club please come along and join the committee.

2012 Cross Country Season

The Little Athletics Cross Country season runs from May through to August each year.
Seymour runs its own local competition which comprises of six rounds run on alternate
Saturday mornings at various courses in and around Seymour. All registered athletes are
eligible to compete in cross country at no extra cost. Further details of the season can

Presentations and Awards were held on Sunday the 18th

of March at the Seymour Racecourse.

Seymour Little Athletics Centre (SLAC) is a member of the Little Athletics Victoria (LAVic), Northern Country Region.

Seymour Little Athletics started in 1968 and became the 36th Centre to form in Victoria. In the early 1970’s, Seymour held Open Days and a gift, which was held at Kings Park.  

The inter club competition at Seymour takes place at Kings Park on Friday nights, commencing the 7th of October, 2011, and concluding in March, 2012. Competition starts at 5.30pm and runs for approximately 2 hours.

Training nights are held at Kings Park, Seymour, each Monday night when the competition season begins - this time is the perfect opportunity for competitors to hone skills in specific disciplines. Training starts at 5:30 pm, and usually goes for an hour.
