Hi, Can you please tell me what all the other competitions and open days are?

 

Region and State Championships are held in Relays, Multi Event, Track & Field and Cross Country.

U9 - 15 athletes compete at Region championships to qualify for the State championships whereas U7 & 8 athletes have the chance to win medals at region and do not qualify for state championships. U6 athletes can only compete at centre open day competitions.

Further details and entry forms on all championships are available from the centre secretary. Please note there are additional entry fees for these events.

 

Relays

Regional relay championships are open to all U9 - 15 athletes who express interest in competing providing that teams can be formed. Attempts will be made to give all interested athletes at least one run. Relay championships are the only team event in the athletic year.

 

Multi Event

Multi championships are open to all U9 - U15 athletes who wish to compete. Athletes do not have to qualify to compete at state championships, however, to do so, they must comply with participation criteria. The multi event comprises 5 separate disciplines, which are :- 100m, 800m, hurdles, long jump and discus.

 

Track & Field

All U9 - 15 athletes are eligible to compete at regional track and field championships. These championships are a qualifying round for the state championships. U8 athletes are eligible to participate at Regionals as an invitational event only.

 

Cross Country

U9 - U15 athletes are eligible to compete in the state cross country championships.

U7 - U8 athletes can compete at the championships in the invitational events.

 

Open Days

Other centres within LAVic hold Open Days throughout the athletic season, including the cross country.

Seymour registered athletes are welcome to compete at these events.
